About The Role Peraton is hiring a Solutions Architect, this role will be located be a remote role. What you'll do: * The Solutions Architect - Air Force supports the Business Development Executive and capture teams in developing technically credible, competitively differentiated proposals across the Air Force portfolio.
* The individual translates Air Force acquisition frameworks, operational requirements, and modernization priorities into winning technical solutions, architectures, and proposal narratives. * This is a technical-first role requiring deep familiarity with Air Force enterprise IT, C2 systems, Pacific theater connectivity, and base-level communications programs.
* The ideal candidate has operated within or adjacent to Air Force program offices, understands how requirements flow from HAF/A6 through MAJCOM and Wing-level commands into competitive acquisitions, and can architect solutions that are operationally credible across both installation IT and mission-system domains.Air Force Enterprise IT and Base Communications * In-depth knowledge of Air Force base-level IT and communications managed services, including NIPR/SIPR/JWICS enclave operations at installation scale and multi-base enterprise network management
* Familiarity with Air Force IT acquisition structures: AFWAY, Air Force ITSM contracting vehicles, AFMC contracting mechanisms, and the Wing/MAJCOM requirements generation process
* Understanding of Air Force Help Desk and service desk operations at enterprise scale, including ITSM platform deployment in AF environments (ServiceNow or equivalent)
* Experience with DISA STIG automation, RMF/ATO processes as implemented in Air Force environments, and AFCYBER compliance requirementsPACAF and Theater Connectivity * Familiarity with PACAF or INDOPACOM Air Force connectivity: theater network architecture for Pacific island chain installations and OCONUS USAF basing (Japan, Korea, Guam, Hawaii)
* Familiarity with PACAF C5ISRO program structure and the Air Force\'s role in INDOPACOM joint C4 architectures
* Understanding of SATCOM and resilient connectivity requirements for forward USAF positions with limited terrestrial infrastructureAir Force C2 and Battle Management * Working knowledge of Air Force C2 systems architecture: ABMS program context, ACC combat communications, and theater battle management as implemented across USAF MAJCOMs
* Understanding of JADC2 integration from an Air Force perspective, including the Air Force\'s contribution to joint sensor-to-shooter data flows
* Familiarity with Space Force ground system sustainment and the integration of space-based assets into Air Force operational architecturesOperational and Program Office Experience * Experience at a MAJCOM J6/A6, Wing communications squadron, or Air Force program office (ACC, AFSPC, AFMC, AFRL) with direct exposure to Air Force IT or C2 program acquisition
* Familiarity with HAF A2/A6/A8 requirements generation and how operational Air Force requirements flow into ACAT programs
* Understanding of Air Force scientific computing and weather systems relevant to HPCMP and 557th Weather Wing programsProposals and Business Development Support * Demonstrated experience supporting capture and proposal development for Air Force or DoD programs, including technical volumes, compliance matrices, basis of estimates, and solution architectures
* Ability to develop solutions that are technically sound, acquisition-compliant, and competitively differentiated against known Air Force IT incumbents
* Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling technical content under proposal deadlines
* Collaborative working style supporting BDE, capture managers, pricing, and contracts teams across all phases of the BD lifecycle
Qualifications What you'll need: * Minimum of 16 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 14 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 10 years with Ph.D. or 20 years of experience in lieu of a degree
* Clearance: active Secret clearance required
* Prior Air Force IT/C4 community background: 3D-series AFSC, 17D Cyberspace Operations officer, or equivalent civilian or contractor tenure at an Air Force MAJCOM or program office
* AFRL Rome Research Site program history or BAA proposal authorship relevant to Air Force advanced technology or Full-Spectrum ISR pursuits
* Experience on IDIQ or GWAC vehicles common to Air Force programs such as NETCENTS-2 or RS3
* HPC systems familiarity relevant to DSRC or AF national laboratory programs: Slurm scheduling, Lustre parallel file-system, and InfiniBand fabric architecture
* 5G/Next-G tactical deployment experience on USAF OCONUS installations with 3GPP military use case familiarityPreferred qualifications: * Active TS/SCI clearance
Details Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
