Position Summary
The Temporary Purchasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating purchasing activities, communicating with suppliers, processing purchase orders, monitoring inventory needs, and maintaining accurate procurement records. The ideal Temporary Purchasing Specialist will have strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Job Details
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (Schedule may flex to 7am start time)
  • Pay Rate: $28-$30/hour, depending on experience
Responsibilities
As a Temporary Purchasing Specialist, you will:
  • Assist in sourcing products, materials, equipment, and services from approved vendors.
  • Prepare, review, and process purchase orders (POs) accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Track purchase orders and follow up on delayed shipments.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and vendor information.
  • Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with replenishment activities.
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures, and budget requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand operational purchasing needs.
  • Assist with resolving vendor concerns, order discrepancies, and delivery issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement process.
QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience
  • 1-2 years of purchasing, procurement, administrative, or supply chain experience preferred.
  • Recent graduates with relevant internships or coursework are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Knowledge
  • Marine equipment, vessel types, and maritime terminology.
