Accounting Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Oversee preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP
  • Review and approve general ledger account reconciliations prepared by Staff and Senior Accountants
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching and performance feedback
  • Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation
  • Research and document technical accounting issues under current ASC guidance
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls in alignment with SOX requirements, where applicable
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of the close cycle
  • Support system implementations or ERP upgrades as needed
  • Assist with special projects, including M&A integration, entity consolidations, or new business unit reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred
  • 6-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior supervisory or management experience
  • Public accounting background (Big 4 or national/regional firm) strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial statement preparation, and internal controls
  • Experience with SOX compliance and SEC reporting a plus
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, growing environment
