SCHEDULE
Offshore rotation: 3 weeks on//3 weeks off

POSITION OVERVIEW: Senior HV Electrical Authorized Person – Offshore Wind- We are seeking a Senior HV Electrical Authorized Person to support offshore and onshore wind projects, with responsibility for high-voltage electrical safety, system integration, commissioning, operational supervision, and electrical authorization. The successful candidate will provide senior technical oversight of HV/MV/LV electrical systems, including wind turbine generators, offshore substations, onshore substations, and HV submarine and onshore cable systems. This role will ensure compliance with applicable country-specific legislation, electrical standards, and client's Electrical Safety Rules.
 RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Implement and ensure compliance with client’s Electrical Safety Rules and safe systems of work. 
  • Maintain responsibility for electrical safety in accordance with applicable country-specific legislation, regulations, and standards. 
  • Provide the final technical authority for MV/HV switching and electrical isolations. 
  • Define and implement electrical safety procedures and site-specific instructions. 
  • Control and maintain electrical safety documentation and permits. 
  • Conduct electrical safety inspections, audits, and site assessments. 
  • Review RAMS, method statements, and high-voltage scopes of work for electrical safety and compliance. 
  • Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities throughout project construction and commissioning stages. 
  • Oversee the safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations, and associated MV/HV/LV equipment. 
  • Provide operational guidance on HV electrical installations associated with: 
    • Wind turbine generators (WTGs) 
    • Offshore substations 
    • Onshore substations 
    • HV submarine cables 
    • HV onshore cables 
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with relevant stakeholders, including National Grid, and participate in commissioning panel meetings. 
  • Support FAT and SAT activities for high-voltage equipment. 
  • Provide technical input to project design, commissioning management manuals, and pre-commissioning/commissioning quality plans. 
  • Prepare, review, and approve HV switching schedules and programs. 
  • Oversee and delegate planning for switching activities across offshore and onshore sites. 
  • Manage outage activities and network control in collaboration with Control Engineers. 
  • Review and update MV/HV/LV electrical schematic diagrams. 
  • Perform onsite verification of switching programs and electrical isolation arrangements. 
  • Maintain overall safety, security, and integrity of the HV network. 
  • Delegate work scopes and responsibilities to Transmission Specialists and Operators across offshore and onshore sites. 
  • Coordinate resource planning and work activities for Transmission Specialists and Operators. 
  • Manage rotation plans for site-based Transmission Specialists and Operators. 
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to HV Authorised Persons (APs) during field training. 
  • Participate in the authorization and assessment of new electrical personnel. 
  • Develop and deliver training programs related to electrical safety rules and procedures. 
  • Promote effective coordination, communication, and collaboration among project teams 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Several years of experience in HV electrical operations and commissioning. 
  • Strong experience with high-voltage electrical systems, preferably within offshore wind or another complex energy/infrastructure environment. 
  • Appropriate electrical qualifications and technical background corresponding to the required authorization scope. 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with onshore substation systems. 
  • Demonstrated experience with MV/HV/LV commissioning, switching, isolation, and electrical safety procedures. 
  • Previous experience acting as an Authorized Person (AP) or Senior Authorized Person (SAP). 
  • Knowledge of applicable country-specific electrical standards, legislation, and regulations. 
  • Experience reviewing RAMS, Method Statements, switching schedules, and electrical safety documentation. 
  • Experience coordinating electrical commissioning activities with utilities/grid operators. 
  • Strong understanding of HV networks, substations, grid connections, and associated cable systems. 
  • Ability to lead, coordinate, delegate, and mentor technical electrical personnel.
