Position Summary:
We are looking for a Platform Security Engineering Director to lead a team dedicated to securing our platforms and products. In this role, you'll oversee the implementation of security certifications, architecture, and vulnerability management while driving both short-term initiatives and long-term improvement strategies. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and help shape the future of platform security. This is a unique opportunity to lead in a fast-paced environment where security and innovation go hand in hand. This position is responsible for supporting the evaluation and execution of current and future security projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the strategic vision for the PlatSec engineering team for F5's products.
  • Is an active member of Engineering leadership team, interfacing with F5's security teams and supporting the goals of creating a stronger more integrated Security team.
  • Leads tactical analysis of requirements and defines the design for new and modification of existing certifications and security initiatives.
  • Assists Teams with project scope and estimating.
  • Liaises with cross-functional teams to ensure that project is delivered in its entirety.
  • Grows the security skills of the team.
  • Engages with customers to address escalations and devise solutions.
  • Engages with Product Management to drive detailed product requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Expert Knowledge and extensive experience with Enterprise security initiatives - including federal certifications, security architectures, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience designing and developing complex security initiatives from concept through release.
  • Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced high-performance environment.
  • Regularly finds ways to communicate widely through discussions, white papers, publications and other.
  • Regularly demonstrates collaboration by promoting others' ideas, influencing others, and making teams successful.
  • Regarded as technical lead by peers and management.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically or working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends). Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 5% of the time spent traveling.

Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a master's degree; or equivalent experience.
  • One or more security certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, GSEC, Security+, CISM, CEH, or OSCP is preferred.
