Quality Control Inspection Technician
Location: Clearwater, FL
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Quality Control Inspection Technician – Level 1 to join our quality team in a manufacturing environment. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in quality control and manufacturing. Working alongside experienced quality professionals, you'll receive hands-on training while assisting with inspections of incoming materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Responsibilities
Incoming Material Inspection
  • Inspect incoming electronic components, hardware, and subassemblies by comparing received items with packing slips, purchase orders, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and the condition of incoming materials.
  • Review certificates of conformance and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials to the Quality Supervisor.
  • Record inspection results accurately within the Quality Management System (QMS).
In-Process & Final Inspection
  • Perform visual inspections of products throughout the manufacturing process under the guidance of senior quality personnel.
  • Use inspection tools such as calipers, multimeters, and continuity testers to verify product quality.
  • Verify component placement, wiring, labeling, and assembly accuracy using work instructions and production documentation.
  • Assist with final inspections prior to testing and shipment.
  • Identify workmanship concerns, defects, or assembly issues and report findings to senior quality staff.
  • Complete production documentation and inspection checklists accurately.
Documentation & Quality Support
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Assist with Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
  • Support calibration activities by identifying and tracking inspection equipment.
  • Assist with data entry and quality metrics reporting.
  • Maintain organized quality records and documentation.
Training & Development
  • Participate in hands-on training related to quality standards, inspection procedures, manufacturing processes, and workplace safety.
  • Learn to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Develop knowledge of quality inspection techniques and manufacturing best practices.
  • Follow all safety procedures, ESD (electrostatic discharge) precautions, PPE requirements, and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement in accuracy, productivity, and technical knowledge.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, assembly, or a related field. Recent technical school or community college graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn inspection tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, procedures, and quality documentation.
