Job description

We are seeking a Director of Project Management to lead and elevate our project management function at a growing furniture dealership in Fort Lauderdale. This executive-level leader will oversee the successful planning and execution of complex commercial furniture projects while driving operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.


This role requires a strategic leader who can translate business objectives into measurable outcomes, build high-performing teams, and implement data-driven processes that improve efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Project Management department, ensuring alignment with company goals and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success, team productivity, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize a metrics-driven approach to identify trends, optimize workflows, and improve project execution.
  • Oversee project portfolios from award through installation and closeout, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Design, Operations, Installation, and Leadership teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Develop standardized project management processes, reporting tools, and best practices that support scalability and consistency.
  • Manage project risks, resource allocation, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization, technology adoption, and performance analytics.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field (PMP certification preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive project management experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience within the commercial furniture, dealership, construction, interiors, or related industry is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide executive-level strategic leadership while managing multiple high-value projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven, metrics-driven approach to improving operational performance.
  • Experience developing KPIs, dashboards, forecasting models, and performance reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
