The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division provide these services to people in need.
JOB SUMMARY
The 360 Life Center Director for The Salvation Army Streator will leverage the full potential to positively impact them for Christ both practically and spiritually, especially those impacted by poverty. This will be done by building a 360 Life Center team that engages community partners through inspired collaborations. This person will understand every aspect of the 360 Team and communicate the story to the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Creates a spiritual expression of the Salvation Army through local programming, Feeding Ministries, Bible Studies, Live Stream services and Disaster Service Emotional and Spiritual Care Teams and is constantly looking for new ways to share the gospel and ministry of The Salvation Army.
  • Actively engages in the community to have knowledge of on-going needs, program development and improvements to current assistance.
  • Uses external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.
  • Prepares and gives presentations representing the community and Salvation Army needs and Communicate the Salvation Army story.
  • Analyzes the effectiveness of all programs ensuring that programs comply with our mission and client needs. Understand the Pathway of Hope approach, and the ways that our grants, contracts, and social ministries activities live within that conceptual framework.
  • Develops and manages program policies and performance accountability measures including United Way outcomes and social service standards.
  • Networks and collaborates with other community partners and agencies.
  • Oversee the administration of community meals including the management of the Food Pantry program while managing internal operations and warehouse needs while maintaining local USDA & IDPH standards.
  • Coordinates and supervises the seasonal programs and fundraising.
  • Works in coordination with the Development team on a regular basis to coordinate events and fundraising.
  • Research and processes applications for available government and foundation grants.
  • Assures compliance with grants and contracts.
  • Expands local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and possible expansion of programing.
  • Deepens and refines all aspects of communications - from our digital presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
  • Expands the vision and impact of The Salvation Army.
  • Plans, coordinates, instructs, supervises and evaluates the work performance of staff.
  • Supports and encourages personnel and provides developmental opportunities.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Creates a team that is built on trust and respect.
  • Assumes responsibility for monthly statistical and in-kind donation reports.
  • Reviews, approves and manages annual department budgets and submits to the 360 Life Center Operations Director.
  • Works with the CIAC Property Project manager to maintain the building and property at acceptable standards of safety and health.
  • Works with the local Continuum of Care (COC).
  • Coordinates public relations with the Development team related to press releases, community relations, and media outreach.
  • Publicly represents The Salvation Army to the Continuum of Care and other current and potential partners such that the big-picture impact of the Salvation Army is clearly translated.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and as related to the dedicated work of the 360 Life Center.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, business management or related degree preferred. Significant experience may be considered in lieu of.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain an Illinois Food Manager Food Services License and the Illinois Food Handler Certification.

Experience/Qualifications:
  • Three to five years of leadership experience highly encouraged.
  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to support mission-based activities.
  • Proven experience with business management, social services, marketing and development including fundraising success.
  • Knowledge and management history of grants and related budgets.

Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience or capacity to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and work as a cooperative team member.
  • Close attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task several projects concurrently
  • Must have an interest and ability to work with people of diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner.

  • Demonstrated awareness of budget resources and cost control, as well as planning and administering budgets.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including demonstrated experience in using email, MS Office applications.

JOB LIMITATIONS
  • This individual will only commit resources of The Salvation Army that have been allocated or approved.
  • This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position. The individual will keep the designated Supervisor informed of all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This position may be required to do light to moderate physical work. Sometimes heavier.
  • To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use standard office equipment including a PC and potentially make public presentations/interactions.
  • The work environment for this position includes an office environment with a low to moderate noise level.
  • This individual must be able to travel to meet the needs of the position. A valid MVR is required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
  • This position reports to the 360 Life Center Operations Director.
  • In context related to this position's duties, this individual will interact with a wide range of contacts both internal and external. In these contacts he/she will act as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.
