Position Description:
The Director of Program Management is responsible for ensuring program and project success corporate wide by managing project execution with respect to cost, schedule, and scope. The Director of Program Management manages the Program Management Office (PMO). The PMO is chartered with developing the project execution framework to ensure consistency in project management processes and achieve process maturity across the company. The Director of Program Management provides leadership, vision, and mentoring to PMO staff. The Director of Program Management may serve as the Program Manager and primary point of contact for any large US-based programs, any project at risk, or a project without a PM resource.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Oversight of Program and Project Management within the BAE Systems OneArc (OneArc) organization
  • Supervision of program/project managers to ensure that all projects within the OneArc organization are delivered within the defined scope, quality, time and cost requirements
  • Centralized management of project and program administration within the OneArc organization
  • Management of key OneArc Projects or Programs
  • Work with the COO and OneArc executive team to initiate and plan for major projects or opportunities and assist in determining corporate priorities
  • Communication of program status to executive leadership
  • Work with staff to develop systems to ensure consistent, high-quality project management and identify and maintain the KPIs to monitor success
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Contracts, Procurement, Development, BAE System etc.) to successfully deliver on projects and programs
  • Identification of growth opportunities within programs
  • PMO personnel selection, training, assignment, and management

  • Develop and strengthen the OneArc brand through excellent program performance
  • Ensure consistency in project management processes and achieve process maturity across the company
  • Provide leadership in development of inter-team communication and cohesiveness, sustaining culture and supporting staff during organizational growth
  • Provide superior customer satisfaction to internal and external customers

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline. Masters Degree preferred (Engineering Management or MBA)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • At least 7 years in Program Management with experience in Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract types
  • Strong background in solving programmatic and technical issues and experience working with external agencies
  • Experience with DoW acquisition approaches
  • Experience managing various contract types to include; Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials, and Cost type
  • Experience with System and Software engineering practices
  • Experience with ITAR and Export regulations
  • Experience working with information technology staff to develop and implement program evaluation systems
