Consolidated Gypsum Supply Ltd. has been distributing building supply materials in Western Canada since 1977. We are currently looking for a full-time Purchasing and Inventory Control Clerkย to join our team in Edmonton, AB.ย
Reporting to the Branch/Operations Manager, this positionย is responsible for purchasing goods, managing inventory andcoordinating activities related to procuring at the branch level.ย This position does not include negotiating with vendors.ย
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Order allresale inventory at the branch level including showroom products, bulk purchases, and winter bookings.
- Issue and expedite vendor purchase orders as required.
- Investigate andresolve inventory discrepancies.
- Schedule/book receiving appointments.
- Processmaterial returns efficiently.
- Conduct monthlyinventory cycle counts with Branch/Operations Manager.
- Coordinatefreight for special/stocking items needed by the Sales Department.
- Support theSales Team in forecasting and acquiring products for upcoming projects.
- Manage vendorcredit requests.
- Reviewand adjust min/max SKU report quarterly.
- Analyze andprint various SKU reports.
- Ensure SKUscomply with company standards.
- Implementstrategies to eliminate SKUs as directed by the Branch/Ops Manager.
- Collaboratewith the Branch/Ops Manager to develop action plans for inventory management.
- Conductquarterly reviews of SKUs, resetting reorder points and maximum stockingquantities as needed.
- Oversee allcommunications with branch vendors.
- Print andreview the "Low Inventory" report daily, implementing necessaryactions.
- Perform weeklyphysical inspections of inventory in the operations department.
- Manage all SKUsto maximize inventory turns.
- Review andapprove branch transfer requests.
- Enforce companypolicies and procedures.
- Perform otherduties as assigned by the Branch/Operations Manager.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous purchasing experience, preferably building supplies
- Diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management considered an asset
- Previous experience in warehouse inventory management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage time
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy
