The Design Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational and creative aspects of our internal graphic design team. This role is a highly skilled, hands-on designer who takes lead on high-profile design projects while providing creative direction and feedback to the broader team. This individual also manages team workload, timelines, and day-to-day design operations to ensure we consistently deliver strong creative work.
Responsibilities
  • Lead high-priority design projects from end-to-end, serving as the go-to designer for our most important and creatively demanding work
  • Manage the internal graphic design team, including assigning projects, balancing workloads, and overseeing day-to-day priorities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for graphic design-related communication, including project scope, timelines, and creative needs
  • Coordinate design resources to ensure projects and deliverables are executed efficiently
  • Work closely with account and strategy teams to ensure creative briefs, concepts, and design direction are clear and actionable
  • Track project scopes, design requests, and deliverables in collaboration with the account teams
  • Assess team bandwidth and identify opportunities to improve resource allocation and workflow efficiency
  • Oversee the design process to ensure timely delivery of high-quality creative assets
  • Review and provide feedback on designs internally to ensure alignment with brand standards and client expectations in collaboration with the account and strategy teams
  • Design and edit creative assets as needed to support timelines and creative quality standards
  • Stay updated on design and social media trends, techniques, and tools to bring fresh and innovative ideas to the team
  • Manage and maintain project tracking systems, including Monday boards and Dropbox folders

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on graphic design experience, with proven experience managing creative projects from concept through completion
  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong understanding of graphic design, visual communication, and social-first creative
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design tools
  • Strong understanding of design fundamentals, including typography, composition, layout, color, and visual hierarchy
  • Experience managing timelines, priorities, resources, and creative deliverables across multiple projects
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and how design translates across different formats and audiences
  • Strong creative judgment with the ability to review work and provide clear, actionable feedback
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across creative, strategy, and account teams
  • Experience working within fast-paced social media, agency, or digital content environments
