JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Manager is responsible for the total operation of the pharmacy services. They provide departmental planning, development and implementation of policies and procedures to guide and support the Inpatient Pharmacy Department, and verify compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations to achieve and maintain accreditation. They ensure department goals and objectives are consistent with Amberwell Health’s mission.  The duties include but are not limited to:

  • All personnel management to include hiring of staff, managing and evaluating staff performance, and verifying proper training and competency assessment.
  • Providing input in budget development and monitoring of costs
  • Collaborating with providers, administration, and departmental leaders regarding issues that impact the overall operations, patient care, and or provider practice
  • Provision of clinical support with processing orders and maintaining inventory
  • Oversight of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
  • Resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy

    • Minimum Required Experience: 3+ years’ experience in management position (retail or hospital).
    • Preferred Experience: 2+ years’ experience in hospital pharmacy preferred
  • Education:
    • Minimum Required Education: Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy; Doctor of Pharmacy or RPh
    • Preferred Education: Doctor of Pharmacy
  • Licenses:
    • Minimum Required Licenses: Current Kansas Pharmacist License in good standing
