Job Description: Position Summary Seeking an entrepreneurial Director of GC & Site Development to lead a growing self-performed civil/site work division. This executive leadership role has full P&L responsibility for a $20M business unit managing approximately 15 concurrent projects. The Director will oversee estimating, operations, field leadership, safety, staffing, profitability, and business development while leading a team of estimators, three superintendents, and approximately 30 union employees.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on construction leader who enjoys building teams, improving operations, and driving growth. Key Responsibilities Lead the Groundwork & Site Development business with full operational and financial accountability. Develop business plans, drive revenue growth, and manage budgets, forecasts, backlog, and profitability.

Oversee approximately 15 active projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Lead estimating efforts, review bids and pricing strategies, and ensure seamless project handoffs to operations. Recruit, mentor, and develop estimators, superintendents, and union field personnel while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

Monitor project financials, including WIP, job costing, labor productivity, equipment utilization, and change orders to maximize profitability. Build strong relationships with clients, developers, engineers, municipalities, and subcontractors while supporting business development initiatives. Champion safety, OSHA compliance, workforce planning, training, and continuous operational improvement.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. 10+ years of leadership experience in heavy civil, site development, excavation, utilities, grading, or general construction. Proven success leading self-performed construction operations, multiple concurrent projects, and union field teams.

Strong financial and operational management skills, including P&L oversight, estimating, scheduling, job costing, and project controls. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Experience Experience with excavation, grading, utilities, concrete, earthwork, or site development.

Union workforce management, heavy equipment operations, and design-build projects. Demonstrated success growing and scaling a construction business unit. Leadership Competencies Ownership mentality with strong strategic and financial leadership.
