Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Neurocritical Care Physician, you will join a highly specialized and robust Neurocritical Care service within Dignity Health Neurological Institute of Northern California, located in Carmichael, CA. You will be instrumental in expanding our advanced neurological critical care capabilities, directly supporting a Joint Commission-certified Stroke Center and ensuring the highest quality of care for patients suffering from emergent neurological injuries and complications in our dedicated Neuro-ICU.

Every day you will bring your fellowship-trained expertise to manage critically ill patients with complex neurological conditions within our 20-bed Neuro ICU, the region's first certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. You will collaborate with a comprehensive interdisciplinary stroke intervention team, including neurosurgeons and neuro-interventional radiologists, leveraging bi-plane angio neurointerventional suites. Your role will involve leadership in clinical care, active participation in clinical research trials, and the necessary skill for placing External Ventricular Drains (EVDs).

To be successful in this role, you will be a Board Eligible or Board Certified Neurologist with dedicated Neurocritical Care Fellowship training and demonstrated experience in EVD placement. You will possess strong leadership potential, a commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes, and a desire to contribute to a market-leading Neurosciences Department actively involved in innovation and setting community standards.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Neurology Residency and BC in Neurology. This is not a position for a Neurointerventional Physician.

  • EVD placement experience

  • A valid and unrestricted California medical license

  • Completion of an accredited post-graduate training program

  • Training in multimodal monitoring is an optional plus

  • Not an H1 or J1 opportunity
