Job description

IT Services Intern

As part of the IT Services five-person team for Jefferson County Government, Hillsboro, MO, this individual will actively participate in delivering high quality IT services including core network, server, workstation, SaaS, and multimedia technologies to 35 government and associated agencies. This position will be supported by existing team members. Ideal candidate will drive system improvements in assigned areas while maintaining system reliability.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in preparing, configuring, and installing switches and security appliances
  • Assist in preparing, configuring, and installing Windows 11 Pro operating system computers for County Staff
  • Assist in troubleshooting and the installation of software applications
  • Assist in recovering old computers and other equipment as needed
  • Assist in install/move/removal of printers and desktop scanners
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing Dell desktop and laptop computers
  • Assist in managing IT inventory including network routers, switches, servers, etc.

Skills Needed: Great customer service skills, basic PC hardware and software skills, computer networking skills, networked and stand-alone printer installation skills.

The pay for this internship is $16.39 per hour.
