Job description

Citadel Security USA is hiring a Full-Time Unarmed Transit Security Officer to support public transportation operations throughout the Roaring Fork Valley based out of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This position is responsible for helping maintain a safe and orderly environment aboard transit vehicles and at designated transit locations while providing professional customer service to passengers and transit personnel.
This role is well suited for individuals who are observant, dependable, and comfortable working in public settings where communication, professionalism, and sound judgment are essential.
Position Details
  • Location: Glenwood Springs, CO 81602
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Position: Unarmed Transit Security Officer
  • Pay: Up to $23.00 per hour
  • Schedule: 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM (assigned shifts within operational hours)
  • Minimum Age Requirement: 21 years or older

Primary Responsibilities
Transit Security Operations
  • Ride assigned public transit routes throughout the Roaring Fork area.
  • Maintain a visible security presence on buses and at designated transit locations.
  • Help promote a safe environment for passengers, drivers, and transit employees.
  • Observe daily operations and remain alert for suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, or policy violations.

Passenger Assistance
  • Interact professionally with passengers while providing courteous customer service.
  • Offer directions or general assistance when appropriate.
  • Help encourage compliance with transit rules and established policies.
  • Communicate respectfully during routine and challenging interactions.

Patrol & Incident Response
  • Conduct security checks at transit stops, stations, and other assigned locations.
  • Respond appropriately to disturbances, safety concerns, or security-related incidents.
  • Notify supervisors or emergency services when additional assistance is required.
  • Follow established company and client procedures during all responses.

Documentation
  • Complete accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
  • Record observations, unusual events, and security concerns promptly.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors throughout the shift.
  • Handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent observation and situational awareness.
  • Professional appearance and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment during changing situations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in security, public transportation, customer service, or a related field.
  • Experience interacting with the public in a professional setting.
  • Familiarity with report writing and incident documentation.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.

Work Environment
  • Public transportation vehicles and transit facilities throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.
  • Frequent interaction with passengers, transit operators, and client representatives.
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, and riding public transit vehicles.
  • Fast-moving environment requires continuous awareness and professional decision-making.
