Job description

Summary: The Builder Sales Representative is responsible for growing and developing sales and profit margins for MSI's porcelain, natural stone, wall tile, countertop, hardscape, and mosaic product lines by specifying materials within the Builder Channel in an assigned geographic territory.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, 1 Saturday(s) a month from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM

Compensation: This salaried, exempt position pays from $65,000 to $75,000 per year. The estimated annual pay for new hires generally ranges from $75,000 to $100,000 or more, depending on experience, education level and commission structure.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with builders to specify MSI materials across product categories.
  • Present MSI products-including natural stone, slab, tile, hardscape, porcelain tile/pavers, mosaics, and quartz-to key decision-makers.
  • Understand MSI products, market competition, and strategies to effectively position offerings.
  • Conduct regular sales calls with builders and design centers within the assigned territory.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with builders' key purchasing personnel.
  • Communicate MSI's competitive advantages to installation and countertop fabrication companies, positioning MSI as the vendor of choice.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all internal and external communications with builder channel customers and MSI decision-makers.
  • Conduct ongoing market research and analysis within the assigned region.
  • Manage builder displays, product samples, and selling tools to support sales efforts.
  • Utilize marketing materials such as catalogs, brochures, and vendor collateral to promote MSI products within the territory.
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues related to deliveries, returns, credits, and other service concerns.
  • Represent MSI at trade shows and industry events as required.
  • Willing to travel up to 90%, with most travel being local and occasional overnight trips.
  • Perform additional duties as required or requested.

Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Previous sales experience is a plus
  • Industry experience is beneficial but not required
  • Strong math skills for calculating discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM platforms preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
