Job description

Firm Risk Management
Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.
Background on the Position
The role will reside within the Firm Risk Management's Model Risk Management (MRM) Department which is a team responsible for the Firm's management of risks related to the implementation and use of models and tools, covering all aspects of the Firm's businesses and implementing key regulatory requirements. This position is with the Chief Operating Office (COO) Team, which is responsible for coordinating various CAO activities for the global Model Risk Management group.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with a global Model Risk Management (MRM) team to plan, coordinate, and track project deliverables; manage routine processes, ensure on-time execution, and proactively escalate risks and issues across key initiatives.
- Serve as the primary MRM liaison to the Central COO organization, representing MRM priorities, coordinating cross-functional activities, and supporting enterprise-level governance and reporting.
- Support the MRM Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) with business-as-usual (BAU) activities, including budget management, strategic planning, headcount oversight and reporting, expense management and reporting and key presentations.
- Contribute to Annual CCAR, Bank Capital Planning, and Quarterly Stress Testing processes, with a focus on automation and process optimization to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting COO/CAO organizations, delivering executive-level reporting, management information, and operational insights to enable decision-making across capacity, cost, and strategic priorities.
- Designed, built, and governed enterprise reporting and dashboards spanning headcount, budget, productivity, and performance metrics by integrating multiple data sources using advanced Excel (Power Query), SQL, VBA automation, Python, and Power BI.
- Trusted partner to senior leadership on headcount planning, workforce optimization, and budget management, translating strategic objectives into measurable KPIs, operating rhythms, and management dashboards.
- Drove strategy execution and operational governance, including tracking initiatives, managing milestones, preparing executive materials, and supporting business reviews, steering committees, Townhalls, and leadership forums.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word), with a strong record of producing clear, executive-ready narratives that connect data, risk, and outcomes for COO/CAO stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering clear project updates, timelines, risks, and status reports to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate risks and bottlenecks, manage prioritization, and escalate issues to drive timely project outcomes.
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively across teams and functions to achieve shared objectives.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Model Risk Management principles preferred (SR 11-7 / PRA 1/23)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $205,,000 year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
