Job description
About the Minnetonka Family Collaborative
The Minnetonka Family Collaborative (MFC) was established in 2005 to help build a healthy community for the children and families within the Minnetonka School District. The mission of the MFC is to support and enhance the well-being of children, youth, and families in the Minnetonka School District through partnerships with the community.
Collaborative Efforts:
Minnetonka Family Collaborative partners gather throughout the school year to share information regarding programs, community resources, and look for opportunities to support families and the community. The MFC fosters collaborative processes and brings perspectives, information and resources of various partners and constituencies to create solutions to service gaps, service coordination and unmet needs of families in the community.
Funding Source:
The MFC is an unincorporated association of designated community partners as authorized by federal regulations and state statute overseeing the utilization of federal Medicaid and Title IV-E dollars that are reimbursed to states, counties, and communities in the form of Local Collaborative Time Study dollars (LCTS). Community investments that the MFC makes each year are based on earnings that come from federal reimbursements for services delivered by Minnetonka School District staff. The MFC is governed by a community stakeholder group. The Minnetonka School District serves as the fiscal agent for the MFC. The Collaborative is federally funded through the Local Collaborative Time Study. These funds have been designated by state statute for use in expansion of early intervention and prevention services in Minnesota communities and are distributed through the Department of Human Services and Hennepin County Public Health.
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage collaborative partners in fulfilling the mission by working together, convening appropriate stakeholders, and facilitating and sustaining their interactions.
- Arrange speakers and learning opportunities for the MFC in alignment with the strategic priorities.
- Acts as spokesperson for the organization.
- Implement and evaluate MFC projects and initiatives identified in the community and school district.
- Create and manage the LCTS budget.
- Work with School District staff to identify appropriate employees for participation in the Local Collaborative Time Study.
- Work with School District staff to communicate and train Random Moment participants, and maintain an accurate database of participants.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state and local regulations and policies in budgeting, expenditures and financial reporting for the Local Collaborative Time Study, community contributions and district funds.
- Works with the MFC Chair to coordinate and facilitate the MFC meetings; to include the generation and dissemination of the agenda and meeting minutes.
- Works with the Governing Board on policy issues, strategic priorities and goals of the Minnetonka Family Collaborative.
- Work with District staff on the Community Resource Night event, mental health fairs and other community and District events.
- Team with the Executive Board to facilitate the grant award process, informing grantees and tracking usage.
- Draft and disseminate grant award contracts to award recipients.
- Coordinate and implement requirements related to LCTS: to include Random moments, Random Moments validation, and Title IV-E records,, and Hennepin County reports.
- Process orders and direct pay requests for annual and mini grant programs.
- Coordinate with other Collaborative Coordinators on regional efforts. Attend regional and statewide meetings from DHS.
- Other duties similar in level and scope to those above.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of BA/BS degree.
- Evidence of successful professional experiences in all areas of job responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications.
- Comfort and experience with public speaking in order to effectively facilitate productive meetings.
Assignment Details:
Hours vary depending on county and work deadlines. Approximately 12-15 hours per week during the school year. Minimal hours during the summer months.
This position is funded by the Minnetonka Family Collaborative. Minnetonka Schools is the fiscal host for this assignment.
The minimum hourly wage for this position is $33.00-35.00 per hour.
The terms and conditions of this position will be detailed in an individual letter of assignment.
