Controller - Manufacturing Accounting & Financial Reporting

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Austin Cutlery & Tool is entering an exciting new chapter as we expand from a successful multi-brand distribution business into manufacturing and we're looking for an experienced Controller to help lead the transformation. Working alongside the Director of Finance and executive leadership, you'll lead the accounting function while playing a central role in standing up manufacturing accounting within SAP S/4HANA, strengthening internal controls, sharpening our financial processes, and building a high-performing accounting team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Accounting Leadership
  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close across multiple entities
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and audit-ready financial reporting
  • Oversee the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and technical accounting
  • Coordinate external audits and support lender and executive reporting
  • Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team

Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting
  • Design and implement manufacturing accounting in SAP S/4HANA - standard costing, WIP, and variance analysis
  • Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, reserves, and cost analysis
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain
  • Build meaningful cost and variance reporting leadership can act on

ERP, Process Improvement & Business Partnership
  • Serve as Finance's functional lead for SAP financial and manufacturing processes
  • Participate in ERP implementation, testing, and process design
  • Automate accounting work and improve reporting efficiency
  • Partner with business leaders to support operational decisions
  • Drive continuous improvement across operations and internal controls

COMPENSATION
Base Salary: $130,000-$145,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Requirements
Must-Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with cost accounting, standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing financial reporting
  • Experience leading month-end close and financial reporting
  • Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
