This isn't just a job, it's a chance to build real relationships and shape a safe, supportive home for young adults (ages 18-24) working toward stability and independence. You'll live on-site in your own rent-free, single occupancy studio apartment, becoming a steady, trusted presence in a community that needs consistency, care, and connection.
If you're someone who shows up, listens well, and leads with empathy, this role gives you the space to do meaningful, life-changing work every single day!
A Day in the Life as a Live-In Resident Manager
As a Live-In Resident Manager at Evergreen Bright Start, you play a central role in creating a safe, supportive, and community-driven home environment. Your presence is consistent, relational, and rooted in trust.
On a typical day, you will:
  • Check in with residents and build genuine, meaningful relationships
  • Serve as a listening ear and provide emotional support in a trauma-informed way
  • Help residents develop essential life skills such as cooking, budgeting, shopping, hygiene, and daily routines
  • Assist in resident orientation and support their transition into the housing environment
  • Foster a respectful, positive, and connected community within a single-occupancy setting
  • Support and mediate conflict resolution to maintain a safe and peaceful living environment
  • Ensure the home remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all residents
  • Model and assist with housekeeping and shared living responsibilities
  • Monitor facility safety and communicate maintenance needs as they arise
  • Maintain regular on-site presence, including evening shifts (Monday-Friday 4:00 PM-12:00 AM), weekends, and overnight on-call rotation
  • Respond to crisis situations as needed, including contacting appropriate supports or emergency services
  • Collaborate with the Housing Services Manager and partner agencies to support program goals and a strong community culture
  • Complete required documentation and reports
  • Participate in coverage rotation to ensure consistent support for residents
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the mission and success of the program

This is not a desk job-it's hands-on, human-centered work where your energy and presence set the tone.
You will thrive in this role if you:
  • Naturally connect with people and build trust easily
  • Are calm, grounded, and emotionally intelligent
  • Value community, consistency, and showing up
  • Have experience with youth, housing, behavioral health, or similar spaces
  • Want work that feels meaningful, not just routine
REQUIREMENTS

  • Be in full agreement with The Coffee Oasis's mission, vision, and core values
  • Ability to respond to crisis situations independently
  • At least two years of full-time experience working with adolescents or young adults
  • Ability to obtain within 30 days: First Aid/CPR, HIV/AIDS/Bloodborne Pathogens training, and TB clearance
  • Possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and personal auto insurance
  • Ability to complete training in crisis response, trauma-informed care, and cultural care
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills (Word processing, spreadsheets, internet use)

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field
  • Experience in residential or youth housing programs
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, graveyard shifts, and be available for on-call coverage overnight as needed.
  • Capability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility regularly during shifts.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle objects, operate computer equipment, and perform housekeeping tasks.
  • Capacity to reach with hands and arms for various tasks including cleaning, maintenance, and assisting residents.
  • Ability to talk and hear clearly for effective communication with residents, staff, and emergency responders.
  • Physical capability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds for housekeeping duties, facility maintenance, and general support tasks.
  • Visual acuity including close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus for monitoring the environment, reading documents, and computer work.
  • Stamina to remain alert and responsive during overnight and extended shifts.
  • Physical ability to respond to emergencies and crisis situations, which may require quick movement throughout the facility.
  • Capacity to demonstrate and model physical tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and general household duties.
  • Ability to conduct routine facility inspections and identify maintenance needs.
  • Physical presence required to be on-site for resident supervision and support.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
