Job description

Job Title: Business Analyst

Location: Vienna, VA

Employment Type: Long Term Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams by gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and system requirements. This role requires expertise in requirements elicitation, process improvement, stakeholder management, and Agile delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with business users, product owners, developers, QA teams, and project managers to define project scope and deliverables.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirement-gathering sessions.
  • Create Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform gap analysis, impact analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for development teams.
  • Support Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validate business requirements, and support production deployments.
  • Analyze existing business processes and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure successful project implementation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst.
  • Strong experience in requirements gathering, business process analysis, and documentation.
  • Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, workflow diagrams, and process maps.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
