Job description

The Laundry Supervisor the daily laundry operations and the laundry attendants to maximize efficiency and ensure that all linens and textiles are cleaned, maintained, and distributed to meet the hotel's standards and guest needs, as well as maintenance of all laundry equipment. Launder articles such as clothing, sheets, blankets and other linens used by hotel and guests.

HOW YOU?LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE

  • Supervise laundry staff to maximize efficiency of the laundry to exceed guest?s expectations.
  • Manage and direct the laundry team, including task assignments, monitoring performance, and providing training and support.
  • Ensure that all laundry staff adhere to hotel policies and procedures, including safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Load articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agent.
  • Turn valve to fill washer with water and start machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.
  • Lift clean, wet articles from washer and places them successively into wringers and driers for measured time cycles.
  • Sort dried articles according to identification number or type.
  • Fold and place item in appropriate storage bin.
  • Inspect linens and textiles to ensure they meet hotels quality standards for cleanliness, presentation, and condition.
  • Iron all table linens.
  • Lubricate machines, using grease gun and oil can.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and functional, perform routine maintenance, and report any malfunctions.
  • Ensure laundry room is clean and free from obstruction and debris.
  • Track and manage laundry inventory, including detergents, cleaning agents, towels, and linens.
  • Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
  • Address and resolve any guest complaints related to laundry services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KEY STRENGTHS FOR SUCCESS

  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and manage a team of laundry staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and other departments such as Housekeeping and Food & Beverages to ensure that operational needs are met.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Requires thorough understanding of laundry processes and equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and monitor associates to ensure they are laundering correctly.
  • Ability to move or lift heavy objects.
  • Knowledge of the material safety data sheet when using chemicals and safety rules when working around machinery.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • At least 1-2 years of experience working in a laundry facility

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred
