Job description

Company Description We partner with schools and educational organizations to provide high-quality, student-centered speech and language services. Services are tailored to meet district requirements while maintaining professional autonomy and flexibility for each provider. As a contractor, you will collaborate closely with school teams while managing your own schedule and professional practice. Role Description The School Speech Language Pathologist will provide direct and indirect speech and language services to students in an on-site school setting in Norwalk, CT. This full-time role includes conducting screenings and comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans and IEP goals, and delivering therapy in individual and group formats. The therapist will collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support academic and social success, participate in IEP meetings, and document progress in accordance with school and state requirements. Daily responsibilities also involve maintaining accurate records, completing required reports, and ensuring compliance with all professional, ethical, and legal standards related to school-based practice. The role may include consultation, classroom support, and providing professional input on communication-related accommodations and interventions.

Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure (Connecticut) as a Speech-Language Pathologist and eligibility for or possession of ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • Experience in school-based practice, including evaluation and treatment of speech, language, and communication disorders in children and adolescents.
  • Knowledge of IEP development, special education processes, and relevant federal and state regulations.
  • Strong skills in assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and progress monitoring.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families.
  • Ability to manage a caseload, prioritize tasks, and maintain organized records in a fast-paced school environment.
  • Commitment to culturally responsive practice and support for students with diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Comfort with basic technology tools for documentation, communication, and teleconferences as needed.
  • Previous experience in public school or educational settings is preferred but not required.
