Project Overview:

echtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) is an exciting and growing business unit that serves customers in the semiconductor, electric vehicle, and datacenter markets. Job Summary:

In this role, you will manage direct reports and lead interdisciplinary teams to establish construction methods and support activities. You will oversee the construction process, review plans and specifications for costs and constructability, manage corporate processes and procedures, and lead proposal preparation. Your recommendations for studies, lessons learned, project assessments, and new methods will optimize completion of project construction activities. #LI-SM2

Major Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the coordination and direction of a variety of disciplines 
  • Proactively engages with their teams' development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback  
  • Leads construction specialists in a broad range of construction work practices within multiple construction disciplines.   
  • Directs construction engineering activities of the assigned construction engineering staff, ensuring compliance with procedures.    
  • Approves staffing requisitions as delegated by the Manager of Construction.  
  • Assesses needs and develops GBU training plans.   
  • Supports Manager of Construction with GBU Construction budget 
  • Frequently interacts and partners with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company 
  • Provides consultation, technical guidance and direction to Construction and other support functions.  
  • Reviews project plans, standard engineering details and specifications for constructability and conformance to regulatory requirements prior to release for construction to identify/eliminate potential problems. 
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
     
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Area execution leadership: Lead and integrate all field professional staff within the area to deliver safe, coordinated, and efficient construction execution.
  • Cross-discipline work planning: Align civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and piping activities to area priorities, sequencing, and constraints.
  • Schedule & performance ownership: Own area lookaheads, productivity, and critical path impacts; proactively remove constraints and drive recovery actions.
  • Safety, quality & compliance leadership: Set expectations and ensure consistent application of HSE and QA/QC requirements across all disciplines in the area.
  • Stakeholder coordination & decision authority: Act as the primary field interface for superintendents, construction management, engineering, and project controls; escalate and resolve issues decisively.
