Job Title: Epic Implementation - Lab Operations Coordinator - 257905
Position Type: Contract (W2 or 1099)
Work Location : 100% Remote - working EST Hours
Travel: <10% annually
ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE
Medix is currently seeking a Lab Operations Coordinator for a long-term consulting role, assisting during an Epic Beaker Implementation. Our client is a major academic medical network moving to Epic Beaker over the next 2 years. This role will help facilitate the operational aspects of this implementation, serving as a key liaison to translate and facilitate the operational processes involved in an Epic Implementation. Prior Anatomic or Clinical Lab experience is a requirement. Prior hands-on experience using or training on Epic is also required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serving as a key liaison between the Epic Beaker Analyst team and the Lab locations during implementation
  • Organizing timelines and communicating complexities before, during and after implementation and go-live.
  • Driving cross functional communication and serving as the main point of contact between laboratory managers, technical analysts, and external vendors
  • Helping clarify and translate complex laboratory processes into standardized operating procedures
  • Getting ahead of the unique Epic requirements for this implementation, helping drive success from the start
  • Facilitating operational Laboratory tasks during the Epic Implementation
  • Updating and maintaining standard operation procedures
  • Helping labs get organized with staffing and shifts, planning for major testing events, etc.
  • Driving operational readiness and coordinating pre-work checklists, testing validation, and end-user training for lab staff.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have 5+ years experience working in a Clinical or Anatomic Lab, with a strong understanding of Lab Terminology
  • Must have prior experience working on an Epic Beaker implementation project
  • Must have super-user or trainer-level knowledge of Epic Beaker and Pathology Applications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
