Job Description

Our Las Vegas, NV laboratory is looking for an entry-level Technician to join their Sample Management Team!  The Sample Management Technician's primary responsibilities are to receive samples, prepare bottle kits for clients, deliver samples to the lab, dispose of expired samples, work in shipping and receiving, answer phones, and greet clients upon arrival. 

Job functions:

  • Receives/unpacks sample coolers and containers and documents the receipt in an efficient and timely manner
  • Verifies and records sample receipt temperature
  • Performs preservation checks on aqueous samples with various containers
  • Creates jobs, enters bottle records, and generates bottle labels using LIMS in accordance with chain of custody (COC)
  • Applies sample labels to sample containers
  • Transfers samples between sample reception, cold or ambient storage areas, and laboratory departments
  • Prepare client bottle kits
  • Maintains all required documentation with accuracy and clarity
  • Removes historical samples for completed jobs and assigns samples for disposal; disposes of expired samples
  • Communicates sample information to Client Services team and lab operations to ensure timely
  • Adheres to lab and sample management SOPs to ensure that proper sample handling procedures are followed
  • Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external clients
  • Answer phone calls and greets clients upon arrival
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Advanced English language skills (Required)
  • Strong customer service skills (Required)
  • Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 50 lbs on a constant basis (Required)
  • Experience in an environmental laboratory (Preferred)
  • Associate degree in science-related field (Preferred)

This is an hourly position (dependent on experience).  This position is eligible for overtime pay.

In addition, your compensation package includes the following benefits:
