Lab Assistant

Join a leading healthcare facility as a Lab Assistant and play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a clinical setting in the region, performing routine lab tasks that contribute to accurate patient diagnostics and care. If you are detail-oriented, organized, and eager to gain experience in a fast-paced lab environment, this could be the perfect position for you.

Responsibilities
  • Sort and receive laboratory specimens in the department
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance on laboratory equipment
  • Conduct tasks such as centrifuging specimens, printing labels, and recording data including temperature charts
  • Store and retrieve specimens as needed
  • Prepare reagents and media for laboratory testing
  • Prepare specimens at workstations for testing, including building worklists, aliquoting samples, checking for clots and fibrin, inoculating, and slide preparation
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control duties as assigned
  • Resolve pending specimen lists and find missing samples
  • Decontaminate work areas and perform weekly radioactive wipe tests
  • Maintain departmental records and file documentation
  • Change gas cylinders and dispose of biohazardous materials following safety protocols
  • Follow PPE requirements and all safety regulations
  • Operate laboratory computer systems and PCs efficiently
Required Skills
  • Ability to establish work priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory procedures
  • Good interpersonal skills, maintaining courtesy and respect with coworkers and customers
  • Basic computer literacy in laboratory systems and general PC use
