Job description


An international trading company in Portland Office is seeking a sales rep who Support the achievement of the Department's financial goals by maintaining/expanding existing business and supporting the development of new business in Food industry.
Sales/Marketing/Budgeting
• Support budget management of the department.
• Assist in development of a business plan and sales strategy.
• Assist in development of new importing & exporting business in the food industry.
• Negotiates and closes terms of purchase/sales with supplier and customers.
• Contacting customers.
• Create new business and/or expand business.
• Monitors customer's financial situations and payment status.
• Ensures the business compliance.
• Researches and analyzes investment opportunities in the North American food industry.
• Supervises Sales assistant/Logistic specialist.
Responsible includes customer service as well as administrative tasks.
Requirements
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience preferably in the seafood/marine products industry.
• Appropriate Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and U.S. Customs is a plus.
• Knowledge of trade terms and food products.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, closing, persuasive skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to train sales assistant /Logistic specialist
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Business level Japanese.(speak, read, and write)
• Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
