Position Overview:

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for supporting operations by managing and coordinating inventory activities for assigned medical device accounts. Key responsibilities include utilizing inventory management systems to distribute products, maintaining accurate inventory counts, and analyzing account metrics. The role involves overseeing procedures to track inventory shelf life, investigating discrepancies, reconciling inventory accounts, and ensuring the proper disposal of damaged or obsolete products. The Inventory Specialist also implements quality initiatives, keeps detailed records of inventory inquiries, and supports the efficient organization of the warehouse. Works with the Quality Department relating to the documentation of NCRs (Nonconformance Report). Additional duties and projects are assigned as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize inventory management systems to track, monitor, and distribute products for sales personnel and customers.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts through regular physical and digital audits.
  • Reconcile inventory accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure data accuracy.
  • Ensuring financial of the cycle count.
  • Oversee procedures for managing inventory shelf life, expiring inventory, and storage compliance.
  • Prepare reports on inventory levels, service metrics, and productivity standards for internal review.
  • Ensure proper documentation of inventory-related transactions, including shortages, shipments, and inquiries.
  • Implement and support quality control initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
  • Dispose of damaged, defective, or obsolete inventory in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and field operations to ensure efficient inventory storage, organization, and accessibility.
  • Track and report service levels, identify inventory trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform data analysis on inventory metrics and provide insights for operational efficiency.
  • Supports in daily outbound order second verification
  • Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned to support business needs.
  • Help support cycle count programs to ensure consistent inventory accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
  • Train and mentor warehouse staff on proper inventory handling procedures, including best practices for labeling, storage, and safety protocols.
  • Assist with continuous improvement project in reference to cycle count programs and protocols

Qualifications:

  • A High School, diploma required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle, JDE, or other ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with data entry systems is desirable.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels and backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment that requires cross-functional collaboration.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with considerable experience in data analysis using Excel.
  • Ability to travel to up to 10% of the time in and out state.
  • Must maintain a valid drivers license and clean driving record.

Physical and Location Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is regularly required to sit and climb or balance and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to access and physically navigate the warehouse facility. The employee must have the ability to stand on-call based on a schedule determined by leadership and responsibility is shared amongst the team.
