Job description

All aspects of inventory will run through this job.  This candidate will have the ability to work well with others and interact with multiple departments. 

Inventory Control & Management

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels for raw materials, components, finished goods, and work-in-process inventory.
  • Oversee inventory related to:
    • Wood species and sheet goods
    • Door slabs and frames
    • Hardware and accessories
    • Glass and lite kits
    • Machined components
    • Fasteners and consumables
  • Develop and maintain cycle count programs and physical inventory procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and variances.
  • Monitor inventory turns, aging inventory, scrap, and obsolescence.

Manufacturing & Production Support

  • Coordinate closely with production scheduling to ensure material availability for manufacturing operations.
  • Support pre-hung and millwork production workflows by aligning inventory processes with manufacturing demand.
  • Maintain accurate BOM (Bill of Materials) and inventory data within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Work with purchasing to forecast material requirements and prevent stockouts.
  • Assist in implementing lean manufacturing and warehouse efficiency initiatives.

Warehouse Operations

  • Supervise receiving, storage, material movement, and shipping coordination.
  • Ensure proper organization and storage of wood products and manufactured materials.
  • Maintain warehouse safety standards and OSHA compliance.
  • Improve warehouse layout and material flow to support operational efficiency.

Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Generate inventory performance reports and KPIs.
  • Analyze usage trends and recommend stocking strategies.
  • Implement best practices for inventory accuracy and process standardization.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across operations and manufacturing.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of inventory management experience in:
    • Pre-hung door manufacturing
    • Millwork manufacturing
    • Architectural woodwork
    • Building materials manufacturing
    • Door, frame, and hardware industry
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing inventory processes and warehouse operations.
    • Experience working in ERP/WMS systems within a manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of BOM structures, production scheduling, and material planning.
