Intro Are you ready to explore a world of possibilities at work and during your time off Join our American Airlines family and youll grow your expertise to become the best version of yourself As you embark on a new journey youll tackle challenges with flexibility and grace learn new skills and advance your career while having the time of your life Feel free to enrich your personal and work life and hop on board Why youll love this job As one diverse highperforming team dedicated to technical excellence you will focus relentlessly on delivering unrivaled digital products that drive a more reliable and profitable airline The Infrastructure Domain in Information Technology is dedicated to managing and maintaining the clientserver hardware and software that underpins an organizations computing environment This domain covers various responsibilities from IT logistics to data center management It supports various technologies including VDI API management and infrastructure tools and processes to ensure business systems operate efficiently reliably and securely What youll do As noted above this list is intended to reflect the current job but additional functions may not be referenced Management will modify the job or require other tasks to be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate observing any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations Plan and implement database designs including the creation and maintenance of cloud databases Allocate resources such as Storage Compute Memory Implement strategies for HA Failover DR and Replication Finetune database systems to enhance performance scalability and reliability including monitoring and optimizing database query performance indexing etc Establish access and authentication controls to secure data setup encryption masking as required Manage and monitor performance security and availability of databases Implement database backup and disaster recovery procedures Work with development teams to optimize database usage and query performance Coordinate and manage migration of databases to Azure platform Perform capacity planning and demand forecasting for database systems Identify and troubleshoot any databaserelated issues in a timely manner Perform capacity planning and demand forecasting for database systems Stay current with the latest Azure technologies trends and techniques Minimum Qualifications Education Prior Job Experience Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Technology Information Systems CISMIS Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent experiencetraining 4 to 5 or more years of Database Administration experience with any of the database management systems Microsoft SQL Server DB2 LUW Oracle PostgreSQL etc 4 to 5 or more years of experience working with large database large scale projects 4 to 5 years of experience with cloudbased database technologies Azure SQL Azure SQL MI Azure SQL for PostgreSQL Knowledge of cloud computing concepts virtualization and infrastructureasaservice IaaS platforms Proficiency in SQL Server and Microsoft Azure cloud technologies Is a selfstarter with the ability to work with little management supervision Has the ability to multitask be flexible and deal with interruptions and change Can coordinate the triage identification and resolution of complex production and nonproduction issues Proficient in SQL language database principles and data modeling Must be willing to work varying shifts Day Night Slit or weekends Additional Skills or Prior Job Experience 1 to 3 years experience with NoSQL database systems MongoDB DynamoDB Azure Cosmos DB Neo4j Neptune etc Familiarity with Microsoft DevOps and PowerShell scripting Expertise in utilizing IaaS and PaaS services including database services and Kubernetes Understanding of IP subnetting Network Security Groups routing Azure Firewall load balancing DNS and other networking concepts and protocols Experience
