Join the Culinary Team at Covenant Woods!

Do you love creating great food and working with a team that takes pride in every meal? Covenant Woods is looking for a talented and dependable Full-Time and Part-Time Cooks to help prepare delicious, high-quality meals for our residents and special events. If you're passionate about cooking, food safety, and providing exceptional service, we'd love to meet you!

Schedule:

Full-time

6:30 am – 3:00 pm

Every other weekend off

Part-time

6:30 am -3:00 pm Saturday and Sunday, One day during the week. 

Additional hours available as needed.  

Every other weekend off

What You'll Do

As a Cook, you'll work alongside our culinary team to prepare and present a variety of menu items while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and food safety.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, cooking, and portioning meals under the direction of the Chef
  • Working a variety of stations, including sauté, fry, braising, and salad preparation
  • Ensuring all food is cooked, held, and stored at proper temperatures
  • Recording temperatures and following all food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Keeping kitchens, workstations, equipment, coolers, and storage areas clean and organized
  • Properly labeling, dating, and storing food products
  • Supporting meal service for daily dining and special events
  • Following all Virginia Department of Health regulations and ServSafe® standards
  • Providing outstanding service while embracing Covenant Woods' commitment to excellence

What We're Looking For

  • Previous commercial cooking experience preferred
  • Experience with basic cooking techniques, including sautéing, frying, braising, and salad preparation
  • ServSafe® Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong attention to food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and kitchen procedures
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
