A detail-oriented and service-driven professional with strong organizational and communication skills. You are able to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively, and support tenants with professionalism, compassion, and cultural sensitivity.


What You'll Do:

Support daily property operations by assisting with leasing, inspections, rent collection, and maintenance coordination to ensure safe, compliant, and stable housing for tenants.


Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Property Manager, the Assistant Property Manager supports daily housing operations, including leasing, rent collection, inspections, and maintenance coordination to ensure safe, compliant, and well-maintained properties.


Key Responsibilities:


  •  Assist with housing inspections, including HUD Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and habitability checks, ensuring compliance with required guidelines and documenting results accurately.
  • Coordinate and follow up on maintenance and service requests, working with Facilities staff to ensure timely resolution and unit readiness.
  • Support rent and client contribution collection processes, including tracking payments, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with reporting and follow-up on late or missing payments.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering notices, reports, and documentation related to tenant payments, lease compliance, and occupancy requirements.
  • Collaborate with supportive housing staff, property management, and tenants to address lease agreements, violations, recertifications, and housing-related concerns.
  • Support leasing functions including processing applications, assisting with lease and participation agreement execution, and tracking renewals and expirations.
  • Maintain accurate tenant and property data in internal systems, including lease terms, payment records, inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate unit turnover activities to ensure vacant units are prepared, inspected, and ready for occupancy within required timelines.
  • Serve as a resource to tenants by addressing housing-related questions and providing guidance on lease terms, unit care, and expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, landlord/tenant laws, and applicable housing program requirements while performing additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required. Relevant combination of education, experience, and certifications will be considered.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage tenant interactions and resolve concerns.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and property management software (e.g., Rent Manager or similar systems).
  • Knowledge of affordable housing regulations, compliance requirements, and property management practices preferred.

Work Schedule:

Non-Remote Position

Full-time schedule with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and attend tenant or organizational meetings as needed.


Additional Requirements:

Successful completion of toxicology testing and criminal background screening (local, federal, and Level II/OIG).

Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Experience in property management, leasing, or subsidized/affordable housing preferred.

Familiarity with Florida Landlord/Tenant Law and housing compliance guidelines is a plus.
