Job description

Join our hotel team in a fun, fast-paced environment with room to grow! FREE Gaming License! Hiring for Full-Time and Part-Time positions.

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing routine cleaning of guest rooms and interior of hotel as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager. Duties include: responding to guest inquiries and requests, cleaning, mopping and disinfecting hotel rooms, stocking and keeping inventory of supplies and cleaning solutions, and collecting garbage and recyclables and linens from guest rooms. Advises Housekeeping and Hotel Management when rooms are ready for occupancy, examines rooms, halls and lobbies to determine if repairs are needed and cleans guest exercise and pool area clean and tidy. Performs additional job duties as assigned by the department manager.

Housekeeper pay starts at $19.32/hr and increases to the standard rate of $20.46/hr at successful completion of 90 day orientation period. This full-time position features excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.

Education:

  • High School Diploma GED equivalent required

Experience & Requirements:

  • Three months of hotel housekeeping experience
  • Knowledge and experience using and operating cleaning equipment
  • Additional education/experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of the position.

Essential Functions:
• Cleans the inside of a designated minimum number of guest rooms thoroughly each day.
• Dusts, mops, vacuums, strips bed linens, and makes beds.
• Disinfects counters, bath/shower, toilet area, coffee maker, microwave oven, refrigerator, furniture, and windows.
• Restocks hotel room amenities such as soap, lotion, shampoo, and coffee maker supply.
• Collects garbage, recyclables, soiled linens, and other waste from guest rooms.
• Stocks and inventories supply and cleaning products on the cleaning cart.
• Keeps the interior of the hotel public areas clean.
• Advises designated hotel staff when rooms are complete and ready for occupancy.
• Examines rooms, halls, and lobbies to determine any need for repairs or replacement of furniture and equipment.
• Cleans and dusts heating/air conditioning units as necessary.
• Cleans guest exercise room and keeps pool area tidy.
• Arranges informational fliers, brochures, and related materials in an orderly fashion.
• Responds to guest requests in timely manner.
• Reports missing or damaged furniture or equipment.
• Utilizes personal protective equipment as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Competencies:

Excellent communication and customer service skills are key, along with knowledge of casino policies and health and safety procedures. The role calls for strong problem-solving, the ability to work independently, and ethical decision-making. Being organized, familiar with cleaning tools and equipment, and comfortable using two-way radios are important for success.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting/standing for up to 10 hours per day
  • Walking/Reaching/Bending
  • Using hand/eye coordination/finger dexterity
  • Concentrating in loud/busy situations
  • Lifting items up to 25 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
  • Must be able to tolerate a casino smoke-filled environment

Additional Requirements:

  • Our facilities operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year which may require this position to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
