Job Title: Coordinator for High School Programming
Position #: 00805214 - Requisition #: 39930
Job Summary:
The Coordinator for High School Programming is a key member of the Office for Educational Outreach and Pathway Initiatives. This position will assist in the development and implementation of office pathway/pipeline and outreach programs. Work includes recruiting students for and implementing programs targeting high school youth, including populations from underrepresented and underserved groups (first generation, lower income, etc.) in STEM and healthcare fields.
Key Responsibilities:
Pathway Programming: 60%
- Oversee a college readiness program based on student empowerment that will lead to successful entrance and graduation from college for high school age participants.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the CU Pre-health Scholars Program (CUPS)/High School Track.
- Plan, implement and coordinate the high school program, maintain current records on student participation and alumni progression towards a career in health care, and assist participants with college transition and connection to office undergraduate or other key pathway/pipeline programs.
General Operational Management (20%)
- Manage undergraduate cohort leads (student employees).
- Respond to in-person, written, and telephone requests from students, applicants, colleagues, and other university personnel.
- Help solve problems for faculty, staff and students and walk-ins.
Office Technology Support (20%)
- Manage BAND app communications and scheduling.
- Manage high school attendance records.
- Assist in coordinating and disseminating online forms and surveys through FormStack, Qualtrics and other university platforms.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in education, communication, sociology, ethnic studies, women and gender studies, psychology, health sciences, physical sciences, public administration, higher education, counseling, hospitality, art, human services, student affairs, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Two years of professional experience working in higher education, middle schools, pre-collegiate programs, and community-based organizations or closely related professional settings, and experience mentoring employees or volunteers.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree in K-12 Education, M.A. Ed., STEM Education, Higher Education, Counseling Education, Social Work Student Affairs, Public Health, or a related field.
- Experience with evaluation and data management.
- Experience providing case management services and advising students with the college admissions and financial aid application process.
- Bilingual.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Fundamental knowledge of career pathway programs, their importance and how they serve as a bridge to support the mission of the institution.
- Proficiency in a second language (written and verbally)
- Knowledge of youth participatory action research practices
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability.
- Demonstrated ability in multitasking, prioritizing workloads, and working independently.
- Ability to understand and apply student development models to the success of students interested in the sciences and health professions.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $57,206 - $75,203.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
