Job description

Essential Duties
  • Maintain and update the Safety Management System, including safety records, reports, logs, and required regulatory documentation.
  • Monitor, implement, and improve safety programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with OSHA regulations and company standards.
  • Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and assigned safety-related projects.
  • Support Occupational Health services as needed, including first aid response when appropriate.
  • Observe employee work practices and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Identify hazardous conditions or behaviors and collaborate with teams to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Safe Work Procedures.
  • Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented.
  • Follow up on corrective actions to verify effectiveness and completion.
  • Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with all site-specific safety requirements.
  • Support emergency response planning and participate in or lead drills and safety committee activities.
  • Maintain a regular presence on the production floor to reinforce safety practices and engagement.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training programs, including onboarding, toolbox talks, and ongoing education.
  • Promote safety awareness and foster a proactive safety culture across all departments.
  • Adjust priorities as needed to respond to changing operational demands.
  • Build positive working relationships and resolve safety concerns at the appropriate level.
  • Perform administrative duties related to safety programs and compliance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on occupational health and safety matters.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
