In this role, you will be responsible for the safe operational condition and maintenance of all turf mowers, utility vehicles, and maintenance equipment. Work closely with the Equipment Manager / Golf Course Superintendent to plan and coordinate repairs, adjustments, and maintenance of all equipment to ensure it's available for daily use on the golf course.
The ideal candidate will be a team player who strives for excellence with a great attitude and strong work ethic. At least 5 years of well-rounded experience as head golf course mechanic, assistant golf course mechanic, and/or related mechanical experience.

JOB DETAILS
Responsibilities:
  • 5 years of experience as a Lead Mechanic on a golf course, managing shop operations and leading the maintenance and repair of golf course equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment above industry standards. This includes, but is not limited to preventative maintenance programs, engine tune-ups, carburetor adjustments, and tire repairs. Ensure safe and proper operation of hydraulic, brake, fuel, steering, electrical, and cooling systems.
  • Adjust, sharpen, and maintain reel mowers to ensure proper reel-to-bed knife adjustment and proper height-of-cut on all cutting units.
  • Prepare parts and supply requisitions based on inventory control and budget. Review them with the Equipment Manager and the Golf Course Superintendent.
  • Prioritize and assign equipment repairs for Mechanic I and II.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair records are updated and kept current to Desert Mountain standards, both electronic and paper.
  • Work with John Deere tracking software such as On Equip.
  • Ensure OSHA standards are followed in shop maintenance as well as the recycling and disposal of used materials, including batteries and hazardous materials.
  • Monitor the safety and fueling procedures for all fuel tanks both above and underground.
  • Perform occasional welding, machining, and painting.
  • Train, educate, and mentor Mechanic I and Mechanic II employees.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
