Job description

Property Description:
Originally laid out in 1915 by Bishop Albion W. Knight-with no formal design training, aided only by mules and the University's football team-this nine-hole gem later received an inspired transformation. Redesigned by Gil Hanse, Golf Magazine's 2009 Architect of the Year, with Jim Wagner. Their thoughtful redesign, completed in 2013, preserved the original routing while introducing all-new green complexes, bunkers, and alternate tees that enable two varied loops of nine-with changing yardages and pars. Golf.com ranks Sewanee as the 9th best nine-hole course in the U.S. and 18th best in the world. In Golf Digest's 2023 ranking of the 25 Greatest College Golf Courses in America, Sewanee rose to No. 10, topping every nine-hole course in that elite list. The magazine praised its "impressively rugged-yet-refined bunkering, prominent undulations, and stunning vistas," calling it one of the nation's greatest collegiate layouts. The course has hosted Tennessee Golf Association championships like the 2016 Girls State Junior, 2018 Women's Mid-Am and Senior-Am, and the 2021 Challenge Cup, and is seamlessly integrated with the Sewanee Inn and Green's View Grill-making it a delight for both golfers and visitors alike. www.thecourseatsewanee.com
