Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a responsible, safety-focused, and compassionate Bus Driver/Teacher to join our team. This unique dual-role position ensures the safe transport of our students to and from school, while also fostering their academic and personal growth in the classroom. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, a passion for teaching, and a strong commitment to student well-being.


Key Responsibilities:

Bus Driving Duties

  • Safely operate the school bus along assigned routes, following all traffic laws and school policies.

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and report maintenance concerns promptly.

  • Maintain orderly conduct of passengers, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.

  • Assist young children in boarding and exiting the bus safely.

  • Keep the bus clean, safe, and well-maintained.

  • Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies or unexpected situations while in transit.

Teaching Duties

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons in alignment with the curriculum and learning objectives.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and emotionally supportive classroom environment.

  • Encourage exploration, problem-solving, and active participation through hands-on activities.

  • Monitor and assess students’ academic and behavioral development, providing individualized support as needed.

  • Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.

  • Collaborate with fellow staff to enhance the curriculum and overall learning experience.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom that meets health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred).

  • Valid Professional Teacher License (preferred).

  • Valid driver’s license with passenger or school bus endorsement.

  • Clean driving record with no major violations.

  • Experience in teaching and/or working with children.

  • Strong understanding of child development and classroom management techniques.

  • Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for fostering student growth.

  • Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR (preferred).
