LIBURDI TURBINE SERVICES™ offers a wide range of engineering services and component repairs in support of the gas turbine industry for flight, aero derivative, and industrial frame engines through facilities located both in Dundas, Ontario and Mooresville, North Carolina. The company specializes in the use of advanced technologies for the refurbishment of superalloy components.

Position Summary:

Successful candidates will become part of an engineering team of highly motivated individuals engaged in the design of repairs and upgrades for gas turbine hot section components at our Mooresville NC facility.  Other duties will include continuous improvement efforts for repair/manufacturing shop efficiency.  The candidate needs to possess:

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret component drawings and material specifications.
  • Proven ability to commission and complete projects in a manufacturing shop environment
  • Initiative and ability to multi-task
  • Hands on individual with a roll up the sleeves and get the job done attitude

Relevant Experience:

We are looking for a single mechanical or manufacturing engineering graduate (BEng/ MEng, BASc/ MASc) at either one of 2 levels of experience.  

Entry Level Engineer:

  • Recent graduate with mechanical engineering degree

Experienced Engineer:

  • 5+ years of gas turbine experience – design, repair, processing or advanced manufacturing

Experience in gas turbines, component mechanical design, manufacturing, and machining/welding of superalloys will be considered strong selection attributes.

Experience in the following areas is considered relevant to the position:

  • Capable with CAD/CAM with preference for SolidWorks and Mastercam
  • Using various types of inspection equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, test indicators, height gauges, etc.
  • Using a CMM arm such as Faro/Hexagon with a preference for Inspire measurement software
  • Working within a quality system such as ISO 9001/AS9100D
  • Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
  • Mechanical design of hot section gas turbine components
  • Fixture/Tooling design for use in shop processes such as machining and inspection
  • Welding, brazing, heat treatments, chemical stripping, machining, EDM, thermal spray technology (HVOF, APS)
