Job description

Willbanks Metals is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join a small, high-output development team building mission-critical software for a regional steel service center. This position will support Atlas, our warehouse orchestration and logistics platform, along with additional operational tools spanning procurement, dispatch, and transport optimization.
Position Overview. Thisis a hands-on role for a builder who enjoys problem decomposition, solutiondesign, and rapid delivery. The ideal candidate is energized by creatingsoftware from the ground up in a domain where technology has a direct impact ondaily business operations. The team moves quickly, ships often, and leveragesAI-assisted development tools to multiply output and accelerate iteration.
Key Responsibilities
• Build andextend full-stack web applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript, andTailwind CSS.
• Design andmanage PostgreSQL and SQL databases, including real-time subscriptions,row-level security, and role-based access controls.
• Developfeatures end-to-end, from schema design and API logic through polished userinterfaces.
• Collaboratedirectly with business stakeholders, operations leaders, and warehouse teams togather requirements and deliver practical software solutions.
• Participatein rapid prototyping and iterative development cycles where demos help drivedirection and decision-making.
• Integratewith ERP systems, EDI feeds, and third-party logistics tools.
• Supportdeployment, security, and storage within the Azure ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
Experience
2+ years of professional experience building web applications, or equivalent demonstrable project work.
Technical Stack
Strong working knowledge of React, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling.
Data
Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL databases.
Work Style
Comfort working in ambiguous environments where requirements evolve quickly.
AI-Assisted Development
Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar tools.
Ownership
Ability to own all steps in a project, including problem decomposition, data analysis, system architecture, development, testing, iteration, and problem solving.
Delivery Mindset
Evidence of thinking in terms of solutions and outcomes, not just task completion.

• Daily use ofAI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar solutions.

• Familiaritywith operations research tools or other optimization software.
• Experienceusing Python for data analysis or optimization tooling.
• Backgroundin startup or small-team environments where individuals wear multiple hats.
Compensation and Benefits
Benefits are offeredto eligible employees. Group benefits become available after 60 days ofemployment and include medical, dental, vision, life, hospital, accident,critical illness, and short- and long-term disability insurance. A 401(k)retirement plan becomes available after 6 months of employment and includes anemployer match of up to 4%, subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.
