The General Manager, Tanker Fleet (Technical) will report to the Vice President, Operations. The General Manager, Tanker Fleet (Technical) works from US Marine Management’s (USMMI) Norfolk, VA office but will periodically travel to the ship and to meetings with the government and supporting contractors. Specific assignments may change periodically depending on the current needs of the company.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for overall technical operations of tanker fleet and performance metrics including safety, budget, operating costs, reliability, planning, regulatory, contract compliance and OCIMF best practice.Provide oversight for vessel Masters and Chief Engineers to ensure that missions and voyages are efficiently and safely performed in accordance with good engineering practice and contract requirements.Act as technical discipline subject matter expert, including maintenance, maintenance management, preventative maintenance scheduling, managing critical equipment, parts/spares, service and parts vendor management, vessel response, and vessel security.Supervise Port Engineers assigned to tanker fleet and supervise the procurement efforts of the Port Engineers.Oversee the timely planning and execution of regulatory and emergency drydocking, UWILD and all USCG and class requirements.
