What does a manager external reporting do?

A Manager of External Reporting oversees the preparation and submission of a company's financial statements and reports for external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies, investors, and auditors. They ensure that all reports comply with relevant accounting standards (like GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements. The role typically involves coordinating with internal finance teams, managing reporting deadlines, and staying up to date with changes in reporting rules. Their work is crucial for maintaining transparency and building trust with external parties.

Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication are soft skills that set top performers apart. These skills ensure accurate, compliant financial disclosures and facilitate clear communication with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

What are some common challenges faced by a manager external reporting, and how can they be addressed?

Managers of External Reporting often face the challenge of keeping up with rapidly changing accounting standards and regulatory requirements, which can impact how financial statements are prepared and disclosed.
