Job description

Mobile Maintenance Mechanic Northern Montana

Are you a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys variety, independence, and working in the field? We're looking for a Mobile Maintenance Mechanic to maintain multiple facilities throughout Northern Montana. If you have experience with building maintenance, enjoy solving problems, and take pride in keeping facilities operating at their best, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career.

A company service van, tools, fuel, P-card, hotel accommodations, and meal reimbursement are provided, giving you everything you need to succeed on the road.

  • Great Falls

  • Lewistown

  • Havre

  • Fort Benton

Candidates located in Billings or Bozeman are also encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general building repairs across multiple commercial facilities.

  • Complete basic plumbing repairs including leaks, fixtures, drains, and minor piping repairs.

  • Perform basic electrical work including replacing switches, outlets, lighting, bulbs, and ballasts.

  • Complete carpentry repairs including doors, hardware, cabinetry, drywall patching, painting, and ceiling repairs.

  • Troubleshoot basic HVAC issues, replace filters, and perform routine HVAC maintenance.

  • Inspect facilities and identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues.

  • Manage and complete work orders using a CMMS/work order management system.

  • Plan daily travel routes to efficiently service multiple locations.

  • Maintain a clean, safe company vehicle and work environment.

  • Assist with snow removal, debris cleanup, and emergency maintenance as needed.

  • Accurately document completed work, materials used, and service reports.

What We're Looking For
  • At least 2 years of building maintenance or facilities maintenance experience.

  • Experience with basic HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs.

  • Comfortable working independently while traveling between multiple facilities.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Tech-savvy with experience using smartphones, tablets, Microsoft Office, and CMMS/work order systems.

  • Experience submitting receipts and managing daily documentation.

  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

  • Willingness to travel overnight approximately once per week (hotel and meals reimbursed).

  • Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
