Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Area: Metering
Manager: Kyle Williams
The nature of the role will include:
  • Provide research, analysis, recommendations, and technical project leadership for, initiatives and activities within metering.
  • Perform project management which may include evaluating bid proposals, assessing material needs, coordinating the delivery of applicable materials and budgeting.
  • Providing technical assistance and guidance, but not limited to, computer systems, network environments, AMR and AMI Infrastructure, MDM, MV90 and metering.
  • Prepares and/or reviews contracts, standards, and budgets for both capital and O&M.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings to provide technical guidance, background, and assistance.
  • Work with meter manufacturers on development & troubleshooting issues
  • Remains current with all metering systems.
  • Effectively collaborate with internal teams to deliver on expectations.
  • Work with the metering team on budgeting for both O&M and capital.
  • Develop and implement new metering standards.
  • Assist with metering programs, software product specifications, development, testing and training.
  • Participate in and contribute to product training.
  • Develop and implement annual plans to improve performance and effectiveness.

Education / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college and/or university. Study emphasis in power is preferred
  • 1-3 years related experience preferred

  • Ability to lead people and get results through others. Ability to develop and motivate a team. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrated proficiency with general computer operation and Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to think ahead and plan over a short and long-term focus
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make sound business decisions.
