The opportunity:

We are currently seeking a talented Electrical Engineering Technical Lead to join our team. Based in Langley, BC, this role provides technical leadership and design authority for switchgear and control systems. In this role, you will act as the technical authority for complex electrical designs, supporting customer-engineering and New Product Development initiatives. This role collaborates closely with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing engineering, Quality, Testing, Production, and Supply Chain to deliver high-quality, customer-focused solutions. Main responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical lead and design authority for switchgears, control panels and related power distribution products.

  • Ensuring alignment of designs with customer specifications and applicable standards.

  • Analyze customer specifications and datasheets; partner with project managers to clarify requirements, risks, and scope.

  • Oversee preparation of preliminary electrical drawings, bills of material, and technical datasheets for customer approval.

  • Review, approve, and finalize electrical schematics, drawings, and detailed bills of materials.

  • Provide technical leadership for controller configuration, PLC, and HMI programming activities.

  • Support New Product Development (NPD) initiatives from concept through production release.

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between Electrical Engineering and key business stakeholders to resolve complex technical issues.

  • Support production and testing activities, including troubleshooting, factory witness testing, and design interpretation.

  • Drive product standardization, design improvements, and costreduction initiatives.

  • Develop, review, and improve engineering work instructions, standards, and test plans.

  • Distribute and track engineering work, mentor junior engineers and designers, and provide technical guidance and performance feedback.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior electrical engineers and designers.

  • Define, track, and communicate key performance metrics to engineering manager.

  • Build organizational capability by fostering a high-performance culture grounded in Regal Rexnord values and employee engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from accredited institution.

  • 5+ years of electrical design experience in a manufacturing or ETO environment.

  • Demonstrated experience producing manufacturingready drawings and bills of material.

  • Experience designing switchgears, control panels, and distribution products.

  • Experience with paralleling generator systems for mission critical applications such as data centers. Hospitals, banks, etc.

  • High proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design and documentation.

  • Deep understanding of electrical standards and codes applied to switchgear and distribution system products, including but not limited to UL, CSA, ANSI, NEC, IEEE.

  • Professional engineering certification (P.Eng.) is considered a strong asset.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP is preferred)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
