Please review the following job description:
Supports the development and communication of Truist Wealth's U.S. economic outlook through rigorous research, economic analysis, forecasting support, statistical analysis, and clear, decision-relevant insights.
Reporting to the Head of U.S. Economics, the Economic Analyst supports economic research, forecasting, data analysis, content development, and presentation preparation. This role contributes to forecasts, scenario analysis, publications, and advisor and client communications, translating economic developments into timely, actionable insights. Collaborating across the Investment Advisory Group and broader organization, the analyst brings an economic perspective to market analysis, asset allocation discussions, client communications, and strategic dialogue. The analyst helps communicate the firm's economic views through selected advisors and client engagements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Economic research and outlook
  • Analyze U.S. growth, inflation, labor markets, consumer and business activity, monetary and fiscal policy, and financial conditions.
  • Monitor economic data and policy developments, identify changes in the outlook, and assess potential market implications.
  • Contribute to economic forecasts, baseline assumptions, and alternative scenarios under the direction of the Head of U.S. Economics.
  • Provide timely, evidence-based analysis following major economic releases and policy announcements.

Data and analytical support
  • Maintain economic data, forecasts, dashboards, charts, and recurring analytical workflows.
  • Improve the timeliness, consistency, and scalability of research through technology, automation, AI tools, coding, and data visualization.
  • Validate data and analytical outputs for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Investment and business impact
  • Provide economic context for asset-allocation, portfolio strategy, market, and governance discussions.
  • Connect economic developments with financial markets while recognizing that final economic views and portfolio decisions reside with senior leaders.
  • Respond to time-sensitive research requests from investment professionals, advisors, client teams, and business leaders.

Publications and communication
  • Draft economic outlooks, commentaries, presentations, talking points, and advisor and client materials.
  • Translate complex economic developments into clear, concise, and decision-relevant insights.
  • Create charts and exhibits that strengthen economic thought leadership and client communication.
  • Ensure content is analytically accurate, aligned with established views, and managed through applicable review processes.

Advisor, client, and media support
  • Prepare analysis and materials for advisor and client engagements, internal forums, speaking events, and media-related requests.
  • Serve as an economic resource to advisors, relationship teams, investment professionals, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in selected presentations and develop the ability to communicate economic insights effectively to internal and external audiences.

Collaboration
  • Partner closely with the Head of U.S. Economics and colleagues across the Investment Advisory Group and broader organization.
  • Contribute to a rigorous, collaborative, and evidence-based research culture.
  • Support the firm's global economics perspective and collaborate with the global strategist, as needed.

Required Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, statistics, mathematics, data science, or a related field.
2. Three or more years of relevant experience in economics, economic research, forecasting, investment strategy, capital markets, financial services, public policy, or a related discipline.
3. Series 65 license required or must be obtained within the required timeframe following hire (CFA® charterholders may qualify for an exemption).
4. Strong understanding of U.S. economic dynamics and their potential implications for financial markets.
5. Demonstrated ability to analyze economic data, identify meaningful trends, and develop well-supported conclusions.
6. Experience with economic and financial databases, quantitative tools, spreadsheets, data visualization, and presentation software.
7. Experience using programming languages and analytical tools to analyze data, automate workflows, and improve research efficiency.
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex economic topics clearly.
9. Ability to manage recurring analytical responsibilities independently and deliver accurate work within time-sensitive deadlines.
10. Strong judgment, collaboration, organization, and attention to detail.
11. Ability to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master's degree or PhD in economics, finance, statistics, public policy, or a related field.
2. CFA charterholder, progress toward the CFA designation, or another relevant professional credential.
3. Experience within a financial institution, asset manager, investment firm, economic research organization, government institution, or central bank.
4. Experience contributing to economic forecasts, scenarios, or analytical frameworks.
5. Experience writing economic research or market commentary and presenting to professional audiences.
6. Experience connecting economic analysis with financial markets, asset allocation, or investment strategy.
7. Experience using AI tools, automation, coding, or advanced analytical technologies to improve research productivity, data analysis, forecasting support, and communication workflows.
8. Certified Business Economist (CBE)
