Job description

Job Description

Position Overview

As an Manager, M&A you will execute transactions in support of Invenergy's pipeline growth and strategic objectives. Your responsibilities will include strategic evaluation of acquisitions, managing transaction workstreams, performing valuation and financial modeling, deal origination and counterparty relationship management, deal structuring and negotiation, and monitoring and analyzing market intelligence. The position is located at our headquarters in Chicago, Illinois and reports to the Vice President, M&A.

Responsibilities:

  • Screen development pipeline acquisitions for strategic fit with Invenergy's growth objectives, fundamental quality, and overall risk profile

  • Manage acquisition and divestiture transactions, inclusive of negotiation of definitive documents and closing logistics, with minimal oversight and ensure smooth transition of projects to Development or Construction teams

  • Originate acquisitions through personal network and collaboration with the Development, Origination, and Strategy teams

  • Support larger corporate development activities requiring more complex financial modeling and cross-functional project management with internal teams such as Operations and Finance and external consultants, as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 8+ years of total experience with 4+ years of experience in Development, Origination, Finance, Engineering, or related field

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future

  • Strong initiative and ability to simultaneously prioritize and manage multiple workstreams

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and sound communication of complex issues for presentation to senior management

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze financial models

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A standard renewable or thermal development experience base

  • Experience transacting with strategic competitors

  • Financial modeling skills in Excel with demonstrable experience developing and managing complex models

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties

Base Pay

$150,000.00 - $170,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 25% - 40%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
