Job description

The Carter School of Business (CSB) at Dallas Baptist University is presently receiving applications for a full-time Program Director for the MSITM graduate program to start August 2026/January 2027. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will oversee the MSITM program within the CSB at DBU.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee and coordinate the MSITM graduate program
  • Recruit students for the program and deploy retention methods
  • Coordinate with relevant faculty and staff on curriculum matters including degree requirements, course rotation, and faculty course staffing
  • Connect with relevant organizations, businesses, and other entities to promote the program(s) and secure possible employment opportunities for students
  • Teach a variety of information technology courses consistent with program needs and academic credentials
  • Develop and update curriculum to reflect current industry trends and best practices and incorporate experiential learning opportunities into coursework
  • Participate in ongoing assurance of learning processes and evaluations as necessary
  • Maintain office hours to mentor and advise students
  • Participate in faculty meetings and serve on university committees
  • Participate in campus events including commencement, and assist in hosting IT related functions and events on campus
  • Model genuine Christian faith in and beyond the classroom
  • Intentionally and explicitly integrate the Christian faith with teaching and scholarship.
  • Participate in various forms of professional development sponsored by the University and external organizations
  • Coordinate with the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs on all matters related to program administration, class scheduling, student advising, and recruitment and retention efforts
  • Coordinate with the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Graduate Affairs on all matters related to program administration, program promotion, recruitment, and retention for the graduate program in information technology management
  • Coordinate with University Communications, the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Graduate Affairs to effectively promote the program(s) and keep the marketing materials updated

WORK SCHEDULE:
  • This position is a full-time position with a twelve-month contract at the DBU campus in Dallas. Classes may be taught in person, online, or in a hybrid format.
  • The Program Director is a teaching faculty member who teaches a reduced academic load based on administrative responsibilities and/or other duties

WORK LOCATION:
This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
MISSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be a Christian who holds Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior, and who holds that the Old Testament and the New Testament solely are sacred Scriptures.
  • Must be an active member of a local Baptist Church that holds to beliefs consistent with the statement above.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • Full-time faculty must hold a terminal degree in Information Technology or a related field
  • For Teaching on the Undergraduate Level: Must have completed at least 18 graduate semester hours in Information Technology (IT) and hold at least a master's degree or hold at least a master's degree with a major in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • For Teaching on the Graduate Level: Must hold a terminal degree, usually an earned doctorate, in Information Technology or a related discipline.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the IT industry
  • Program Director or Department Chair experience preferred, but not required
